Pausing an Auction[edit]

Many of the above actions require pausing the auction. This is done by clicking the Pause button. After making the changes or resolving the issues that led to the pause, you click Resume to restart the auction. Actions that fall under this condition are:

  • Add / remove a supplier company
  • Deactivate a contact of a supplier company
  • Cancel a bid

When resuming the auction, the remaining time might be readjusted = rounded up to the next full minute. This is done for technical reasons on the auction types:

  • Dutch
  • Japanese
  • Brazilian

On all other auction formats the remaining time starts counting down from the precise second at where it was stopped. As a general rule, it is strongly recommended to pause the auction in any case, to ensure proper communication about the changes to all participants. In case you pause, let a least 1-2 minutes pass to avoid misunderstandings with suppliers. They need to read the automatic message from the pause action before seeing that the auction has resumed.
